Hi everyone, hope you are all ok. Just a quick update, my appt for the rheumy clinic has come through, its for 12th Febnruary. So will be telling them about the private consultant, and his recommendations (unless his report has come by then) and asking them to put me on the drugs suggested. Also want to ask about OT as they havent mentioned anything, although they know I have problems with my feet, and also showering and dressing etc.
Will let you know how it goes xThumpUp

Hi Liz and Julie, Will have a list, especially now I know more about what can be done. Just been to see one of the better GPs in the practice, he has prescribed some predisolone for me, 30mg for 1 week, then 15 for 3 days and slowly getting to 5mg on a regular basis. He has also given me calcium pills as he says if I need the pred for a while it can affect the bones. Will get the script tomorrow, not up to getting on a bus and going today. He also said to make sure not to get an infection as takig the mtx and pred will make the immune system even worse. If I do get a fever to seek medical help immediately.
Feeling very achy and sore today, bit flu like, but its def not flu as have had the jab, and no temperature or anything. Knowing my luck it s the start of a flare.

Smile

Hi Barb,

Ask your chemist for a steroid card which you should carry with you at all times. They often assume that your GP/Consultant has given you it and vice versa.

Can I suggest that you either type or write a brief bullet point list of all that has been happening to you especially where and when you have the pain/ stiffness and any other difficulty. Keep it brief and give it to your consultant, keeping a copy for your self to check.

All the very best of luck.

Thanks Eleanor, I can remember reading about the steroid card, but probably wouldnt have thought about it. Also the bullet points, really good idea, will do that over the weekend.
Thank you Amanda, always there for us, and so thoughtful and kind, bless you x
